Tennessee Baseball: Disappointing end to an other wise great season.

For the Vols, their first trip to the Baseball College World Series since 2005 ended a little sooner than most had hoped it would. After being shut out by Virginia and sent to the losers bracket, it was obvious the Vols would have to make a miraculous run to the finals. Though it wasn’t far-fetched to think they could pull it off after the Vols have spent their whole season overcoming obstacles, realistically it was always a long shot. That still doesn't make up for how exactly the Vols saw their run come to an end, losing to Texas 8-4 . I feel fans on both sides can agree, the officiating wasn’t exactly up to par for what you would expect for the CWS. But, the Vols just simply didn't play all that great. Giving up multiple double outs, base steals, among other errors. If the Vols had played how they did during the regular season, the officiating mistakes are definitely looked at in a much different light.

The loss to the Longhorns though, may just be the beginning of the Vols problems. After the game head coach Tony Vitello addressed rumors of him potentially taking the LSU opening, when asked for comment Vitello simply said “No i have not. “. We will have to wait and see exactly what happens. Most reports are that we should expect to see Vitello back at Tennessee next year, but anything can happen. Athletic Director Danny White has a big task on his plate,

If he lets Vitello walk, it would be a big disappointment.
